What’s actually involved
Chimney emergencies are conditions that pose immediate risk to life, property, or structural integrity — and they need response measured in hours, not days. We dispatch same-day for any active life-safety condition.
What qualifies as an emergency: an active chimney fire (or recent fire requiring NFPA 211 Level 2 inspection before next use), water actively entering the home through chimney structure, animal stuck in flue, smoke or fumes entering living space, or visible structural failure (cracking, brick fall, leaning).
What’s NOT an emergency (but still important): annual maintenance, planned repair, cosmetic damage, gas pilot won’t light during off-season. We schedule these in normal turnaround (same-week typically).
When you call our emergency line, the first questions are: is the fire active right now, is anyone in immediate danger, is fire department needed. We coordinate with DFW fire departments when the call requires it — we don’t replace 911.
Why this matters in DFW specifically
DFW chimney emergencies have predictable seasonal patterns: hailstorms in March-May leave hidden flue cracks that cause fires the following winter; sudden cold snaps in November-January spike chimney-fire calls when seasonal first-fires hit dirty flues; spring/summer thunderstorms drive water-intrusion calls. Animal calls peak in fall as squirrels and raccoons seek nesting sites. Our emergency dispatch is built around these patterns.
Our process
- Call the emergency line — (972) 920-0833 — describe the situation. We triage on the call: is it active life-safety (dispatch immediately), urgent (same-day), or repair (next-day scheduling).
- Coordinate with first responders if needed — If fire department, gas company, or 911 should be involved, we say so on the call. We don’t replace emergency services.
- Same-day on-site response — For triaged emergencies, technician on-site same-day with photo documentation, immediate stabilization where possible, and written quote for any longer repair scope.
- Stabilization + quote — We make safe immediately (tarp, board-up, lock-out for animal containment, NFPA 211 Level 2 inspection post-fire). Permanent repair quoted in writing.
- Follow-up repair scheduling — Permanent repair scheduled separately based on quote acceptance — usually within 1-3 days for emergency follow-ups.
Materials and standards
Emergency response follows NFPA 211 protocols (chimney fire inspection requires Level 2 inspection before next use), CSIA emergency response guidelines, and Texas state codes for fire/water-damage response. We carry general liability insurance and workers comp; all emergency work is documented with photos and written reports.

Frequently asked questions
What’s a true chimney emergency?
Active fire, smoke/fumes entering the home, water actively intruding through chimney, animal trapped in flue, or visible structural failure (cracking, leaning, falling masonry). Anything else is urgent or routine — still important, but not ‘drop everything’ emergency.
Do you really respond same-day?
Yes for active life-safety conditions inside the DFW Metroplex. Response time depends on time of day and current dispatch load — we’ll give you a window on the call.
Should I call you or call 911 first?
If there’s an active fire spreading or smoke/CO/gas inside the home, call 911 first. We’re a chimney service, not a fire department. After the immediate fire is out, NFPA 211 Level 2 inspection is required before next use — that’s where we come in.
Is emergency dispatch more expensive?
Yes — same-day response carries a dispatch fee ($185-$385) on top of the work scope. Routine same-week scheduling has no dispatch charge.
Do you do nights and weekends?
Yes for true emergencies. After-hours and weekend work carries an additional rate; the dispatcher will quote the full charge before sending a tech.
