Liner & Firebox

The category where TCE draws its hardest line: the high-consequence liner systems are install-only, because a relining job is a fire-safety system, not a box you fit on a Saturday. Alloy is the whole conversation — 316Ti for wood and high heat, 304 where the fuel allows. We supply the firebox repair components and accessory hardware, size every liner to the appliance listing, and install to UL 1777.

Liner Insulation Blanket Wrap Kit (¼" / ½", UL 1777)

A ceramic/mineral insulation blanket with mesh and bands, wrapped around a stainless liner to meet UL 1777 clearance and draft requirements. We spec this as standard on every reline, not an upsell: an insulated liner runs hotter, cuts creosote buildup, and qualifies for the reduced clearance the listing allows. Skipping it to shave cost is the shortcut that brings the draft complaint back to us.

Refractory Firebox Panel Set (Prefab / Masonry Replacement)

Pre-cast, OEM-matched refractory panels that replace cracked firebox walls and floors in factory-built units and restore the firebox to its rated condition. A cracked refractory panel is a documented safety finding, not a cosmetic flaw — once it cracks through, the steel shell behind it is directly exposed to flame. We match the panel to your specific firebox model, because a generic panel that's merely close in size voids the listing.

Cast-Iron Throat Damper Assembly (Poker / Rotary Control)

A cast-iron throat damper plate and frame, fitted to the firebox throat with poker or rotary controls. When we find a rusted-through throat damper during inspection, we typically recommend pairing this repair with a top-sealing damper — the throat unit controls the active burn, the top unit seals the flue when it's idle. We size the plate to your specific throat opening so it closes flush.

Liner Connection & Termination Hardware (Tee, Top Plate, Connector)

The stainless hardware set that completes a code-correct reline: the bottom tee and removable snout connecting to the appliance, the top plate and storm collar sealing and anchoring the liner at the crown, and the connector tying it to the stove or insert. We match every piece to the liner diameter and appliance collar rather than selling generic parts, because a loose tee or an unsealed top plate is precisely where a reline starts leaking combustion gas or rainwater. Supplied and fitted as part of the reline job.

Smoke Guard / Adjustable Fireplace Hood

An adjustable stainless or black-steel band mounted across the fireplace opening to stop smoke rolling into the room when the opening is oversized relative to its flue. It corrects the opening-to-flue ratio by narrowing the opening just enough to stop roll-out, and we set it to the smallest reduction that solves the problem so the fix stays visually minimal. We diagnose the actual cause of the smoking first — this guard fixes a ratio problem, not a blocked or undersized flue.

Firebrick / Refractory Split-Brick Set

Boxed, properly rated firebrick for rebuilding or patching a masonry firebox floor and walls — rated for the heat a firebox sees, unlike common brick, which spalls under repeated fire exposure. A single damaged course is a fix a capable homeowner can often manage; once the back wall itself is failing, that rebuild is our work.

Cast-Iron Fireback

A decorative cast-iron plate set at the back of the firebox that radiates heat forward into the room while shielding the masonry from direct fire exposure — one of the few products that's both protective and ornamental. It extends the life of the back wall and improves the heat you actually get from a working hearth.

Chimney Cleanout / Ash-Pit Door (Steel / Cast-Iron, Framed)

A lockable, framed access door at the chimney base for clearing the ash pit and sweeping out debris — a small component with an outsized effect on performance. A properly gasketed cleanout door keeps draft consistent and the base area clean; we cut the opening into the masonry so it seals square, because a rattling door is a continuous air leak.
